Ilya founded Culture Yard in December 2009. Before establishing the school, he attended the Hebrew University of Jerusalem where he studied Economics, East Asian Studies, and Sinology. He has also studied at Beijing Telecommunications University, Qingdao University, and Donghua University.

Ilya is constantly looking for new ways to improve and grow. He enjoys traveling, trying new things like swing-dancing and drumming, and studying languages. Ilya is fluent in Hebrew, Russian, English, and Chinese, and speaks French and Dutch well.
